Animal food and brood substrate

Brood substrate

Vermiculite is quite often selected over sand as a brood substrate in incubators for hygenical reasons. Vermiculite keeps both the top and the bottom layer humid while with sand only the bottom layer retains humidity and the top layer dehydrates, which causes problems when the eggs are opening.

Ideal as a substrate for insects, spiders and reptiles.

Animal food

Vermiculite is an excellent carriermedium for animal food, it is sterile, does not lump, chemically neutral and absorbing. Mixing in vermiculite in the animal food, makes sure the food remains airy, additives or complements are slowly liberated by the harmonica structure which avoids moulding, and the humidity in the corns is being preserved. Vermiculite is absolutely non dangerous for the animals, it is completely harmless for their health.

Vermiculite absorbs up to 600% of its own weight and offers a larger return in volume, the mixture of vermiculite and nutrients can be enriched with liquid vitamines and other additives.
