History

The current Nestaan Group was formed out of a flax trading company founded by the van Nes family in the Netherlands back in 1926. The Courtrai region in Belgium has always been an important trade centre for flax business and therefore a Belgian subsidiary was opened in 1930. As with many flax traders, other activities were started and the companies of our group specialised in thermal barriers.
Today we are proud to present to you the following companies which were established since the start:
- Nestaan NV, is producing exfoliated vermiculite and fire protecting sprayproducts and we distribute a large range of other thermal insulation products like mineral wool, glass wool, extruded polystyrene, expanded polystyrene and laminated polyurethane.
- Nestaan Holland BV produces Polyurethane block foam in its production plant in Tholen in the Netherlands and equally designs and supplies various pouring and spraying systems for on site application of rigid polyurethanes
- Thermica Ltd is making passive fire protection products based upon exfoliated vermiculite in Hull in Engeland.
- De Groot van Nes & Co –vlas- NV is specialised in import & export of flax fibres to produce linen.
