Discover the benefits and versatility of vermiculite, bitumen-coated vermiculite, perlite, and polyurethane products from NESTAAN, as well as the various ways our extensive range is used in the construction industry.
Discover below the applications of NESTAAN's products
in the construction sector.
Features of vermiculite
- Vermiculite is a non-combustible product of type A1.
- By adding vermiculite to cement, it is possible to make traditional concrete up to six times lighter.
- Vermiculite can be applied without joints, which helps to avoid thermal bridges.
- Vermiculite is 100% natural and is ideal for building eco-friendly homes.
- Vermiculite is multifunctional, providing both thermal and acoustic insulation.
- Vermiculite contains no asbestos.
- Vermiculite can be poured in bulk or used in combination with cement or plaster and renders, creating a beautiful texture.
Vermiculite in the construction sector
Vermiculite is primarily used in the construction sector as a screed and to fill areas prone to fire, hollow spaces, ducts, and rafters in attics.

Bituminous vermiculite in the construction sector
Bituminous vermiculite is an easy-to-use and lightweight product (180-220 kg/m³) used in the construction industry to level flat roofs and finish corners. It consists of exfoliated vermiculite coated with bitumen.
This product can be used in both new constructions and renovations at temperatures starting from 10° C. Depending on the substrate, a plastic sheet or a cold layer of bitumen is placed on which the bituminous vermiculite is poured. In the final step, the vermiculite is levelled and covered with a finishing layer.
Characteristics of bituminous vermiculite
- Fire class E (according to DIN EN 1305-1)
- Available grain size: 2-4 mm
- NESTAAN offers bituminous vermiculite in 100-litre bags (approximately 16 kg/bag) and 28 bags per pallet.

Perlite in the construction sector
Perlite is a volcanic rock that expands under heat and increases several times its original volume. Perlite has several areas of application. In the construction sector, it is used for floor insulation, as lightweight screeds, or to fill hollow spaces. As it can be applied without joints, perlite is perfectly suited for thermal insulation.
Characteristics of perlite
- Non-combustible
- Environmentally friendly
- Chemically inert
- Odourless
- Durable
- Perlite is available in a grain size of 0 to 6 mm and is offered in bulk, in big bags or in 100-litre bags (24 bags/palette).
