Perlite
Perlite is an inorganic volcanic rock that, when heated, transforms into lightweight, porous perlite grains. This natural material has many applications in agriculture, horticulture, construction, and other industries due to its unique properties.
The purity and chemical neutrality of expanded perlite are largely determined by the quality of the processing of raw perlite. Thanks to the high quality of processing and the precision of the process at our expansion plants, NESTAAN offers pure perlite.
Fire-resistant materials
The lightweight and insulating nature of perlite allows it to be used in fire-resistant materials.
Construction
Perlite is added to construction materials such as concrete and plaster to make them both lighter and more insulating. It is often used to insulate walls, floors, and roofs.
Tank neutralisation
Perlite can be used to safely neutralise a fuel tank, especially when it cannot be removed, by effectively filling it.
Horticulture
In horticulture, perlite is used as a soil amendment and as a component of potting mixes. It improves soil aeration, promotes drainage, and helps retain moisture, which is beneficial for plant and crop growth.
Applications
From the construction and building chemistry industry to the petrochemical industry, as well as horticultural applications and the food and cosmetics industries, the versatility of expanded perlite allows it to find varied applications in different fields:

Filtration
Perlite is used as a filtration medium in various industries to remove impurities. Due to its filtering properties, perlite is used in some cases in water treatment processes.
